 College:

    Kittur Rani Channamma College of Horticulture (KRCCH) was established at Arabhavi, Gokak Taluk, Belagavi district during the year 1994 under the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. During the year 2008, it was brought under the jurisdiction of University of Horticultural Science, Bagalkot as one of the premier national constituent college. 

     The college is having 110 acres of land with good water facility and it is situated at a distance of 10 km from Gokak city and 75 km from Belagavi district headquarters. Nearest Railway Station is Ghataprabha which is 8 km away from Arabhavi and nearest airport is located at Belagavi.

    The college is offering the following degree programmes as per the recommendation of 5th Dean’s committee. The medium of instruction for degree and above courses is in English.

1. B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture of four years duration with an intake capacity of 75 students.

2. M.Sc. (Horticulture) of two years duration in different disciplines with an intake capacity of 35 students.

3. Ph.D. in Horticulture under different disciplines of three years duration and an intake capacity is 15 students.

4. Diploma in (Horticulture) in Kannada for two years duration with an intake capacity of 30 students.

     At present the college has well equipped classrooms, practical laboratories, central laboratory, computer laboratory, library, wifi facility, separate hostels for boys and girls, staff quarters, sports ground, gym and indoor game facilities.

Farm section is well equipped with modern equipments, high-tech horticultural nurseries and medicinal plants oil extraction facilities.

ACIRP on fruits (Sapota and Banana) and Horticultural Extension Education Unit (HEEU) are added further to it.

     The Belgaum district has varied agro-climatic conditions congenial for growing of various field as well as horticultural crops and represents as miniature of Karnataka. The college is helping the farming community of the state in general and overall development of the rural area is particular. Several aluminies of the college are shining is national and international institutes and serving for the stake holders of the society.
